Is this health care reform or the path to government run health care? I believe that it is the latter, and for good reason. The good reason is that I heard it come right out of their mouths in this video. Only a fool would not see what they have planned for our health care system. Is that what the American people want? Do they want their health care system run by government bureaucrats who know nothing about health care and who care nothing about your health? And I’m really getting tired of Obama’s continual straw man argument on this issue where he says that his opponents are in “denial that reform needs to happen”. That is not true, and in fact we have a lot of good ideas that the Democrats will never let through congress because they involve private enterprise and freedom, which I’ve lately come to the conclusion that they are against. Obama speaks half truths when he says that if you already have health care insurance that you like, and a doctor that you like, that you will not have to change a thing. The fact of the matter is that you, and or your employer will be taxed to pay for the health care of all those who choose to join this “public option”. So why would you and or your employer continue to pay for your own health insurance, and through taxes the health care of tens of millions of people, when you have the option of joining the “public option” yourself? Simple answer. Not enough qualified trained nurses, doctors, and surgeons. Too many insurance agents.
America must repair its misprioritized higher education system. There are too many people getting degrees which apply only to middlemen services. More science and hospitality is necessary. That is the way of the future.
Why the scary music? I wish Obama was sincerely for a Single Payer system, yet he is not. Once private health insurance goes out of business, it would be a WONDERFUL day for America. Yet I am sad to say that will not have Single Payer at all…
more patients will mean more demand thus resulting in more doctors to supply the demand. people will see high demand and decide to be doctors. are doctors really that bothered by medicare and medicaid anyways? i haven’t heard of any. and i’ve heard that doctors negotiate with medicaid for prices as well.
Universal health care would have been the single greatest accomplishment in American history. Private insurance companies don’t care about you or your health, they only care about taking as much money from you as they can.

@WSidis A lot more die each year than 40000 but they would die with or without heathcare. My wife is losing her coverage and a freind’s company is filing BK. This may be hard to replace since both have previous health issues. I think single payer system will come quickly now and I wonder how we can afford this new system. Something had to be done but not this.
Single payer is coming quickly. My wife’s companie just sent letter that they are pulling ouf of Indiana. She will be guarenteed a new policy with Anthem at their current rates and exclusions. That should be interesting. Another freind of mine got a letter from his carrier that they are going to file BK. He has had in the past a malenoma, this should be interesting about where he can go for coverage. His premium now is 2000 a month for he and his wife.

I HAD A DREAM LAST NIGHT and we were at a rally and every man and women was armed to the teeth to protect their rights to assemble! Well the shit hit the fan, swatt teams called in and the revolution went into full scale operation the swat teams ran into to a meat grinder and were all killed. The overwelming thing about the dream was the rallies were protected by the right to bear arms at the rallies but we needed the weapons to protect the right to free speech and assemble.
Just to end on a more friendly note I hope you enjoyed your trip on the Royal Navy Ship .A very very long time ago, far far away in a land that was being threatened by dragons I had the pleasure of staying with, for a few days at least , a group of GI’s,very very hard, very very friendly and very very big.

You know, I remember at one time there was a system of Public Heath Service Hospitals in the U.S. and there still is a Public Health Service. I don’t think a lot of folks were aware of that or just forgot it and don’t know what happened to them. Advanced medicine, and lack of access is the problem. It is the solution that is a problem. Incidently, had a chance to visit a British Navy ship while the ship I was on was in Hong Kong way back when.
@coastie378 Yes we pay higher taxes than the US and In certain areas I and many other Brits would agree we spend to much on certain social welfare programs. To many of our long term unemployed and to many silly young girls who choose to get pregnant to early misuse social welfare. I’m sorry the overwhelming view in Britland is pro NHS. I acknowledge that the US medical expertise is in certain areas is in advance of ours but given all the pro’s and con’s the NHS is superior to that of the US.
