This was the last Sunday before our pianist/organist retired. This piece was the prelude to the service. On the organ is the pianist/organist who is retiring. Piano is played by our Pastor. This pipe organ packs a lot of sound, as does the Steinway & Sons full grand. This is by Wurzburg, 1828. This video was taken on my phone, on the Sunday of August 31, 2008. (sorry about the quality)

Seriously, if someone doesn’t keep me entertained things like this happen. This is the Church Organ part for Bowser’s third theme in Super Mario 64 along with a MIDI of the Harpsichord and Rock Organ. Despite being bored enough to make this, I couldn’t be bothered to attempt a second take, so be happy with that. Oh, and you’re probably wondering about my apparel… I know I am. Only 1 keyboard was harmed in the making of this video (if you don’t get it, watch the whole video, slacker).

Actually — the text is truly a Catholic Hymn from from the Wurzburg Katolisches Gesangbuch. Of course in the capable hands of Edward Caswall, its poetic translation was found worthy of the august hymnal “Hymns, Ancient and Modern” with that Barnby tune, forever solidifying its place in all Anglican and Anglican break-away denominations.
